How Ozone is produced<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOzone, also called active oxygen, is an unstable gas made up of three oxygen atoms.\nThe ozone molecule is generated following a process of high electric voltage, according to the reaction: 3O2<\/sub>\u00a0 \u2192\u00a0 2O3<\/sub>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMore specifically in two ways:\n

  • Naturally<\/strong>: it is produced naturally through certain types of chemical reactions. With electrical discharges or by the photochemical effect of the sun’s ultraviolet rays, in the presence of humidity and especially at dawn and dusk, and in higher doses on the sea and in the mountains. In thunderstorms, it forms as a result of the high voltages involved, and lightning is a large producer of ozone. The characteristic fresh scent that is felt after a thunderstorm is caused by the formation of this gas.<\/li>\n \t
  • Artificially<\/strong>: Ozone can be produced artificially by replicating the same phenomenon that occurs in nature. The “ozone generators” are machines that produce the gas by means of extremely high electrical voltages, through radiation with UV rays. In both methods the connection between the oxygen molecules is broken. Both ambient air and pure oxygen can be used for the power supply in the ozonizers, even if a greater quantity of ozone can be produced by using the latter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t \t\t

    The relatively short life of ozone in the air and its instability mean that it cannot be stored in large quantities, and this characteristic, in some cases, can impose limits on its applications, so researchers have looked for the conditions for being able to store this gas in a biological tank, so that it can be used at the right time.<\/p>

    The affinity of ozone towards unsaturated fatty acids was therefore used by making ozone bind to vegetable oils, under suitable reaction conditions, giving rise to the so-called ozonides, compounds capable of storing oxygen in a readily transferable form, for then release it on our skin.<\/p>

    \u00a0<\/p>

    In sunflower, olive, flax, hemp and jojoba oils, thanks to their high content of essential fatty acids, ozone is microencapsulated in the molecular structure of the oil itself, in the form of compound ozonide. In this way it stabilizes and amplifies its duration, allowing the ozone to remain in an active “nascent” state for a long period of time, provided it is kept at a low temperature.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t \t\t
